One out of four or five children in our country is hungry (38,000 in Hartford County alone). FVAMC is proud to partner with Outreach Inc. – Kids Care in their mission to feed them all. Outreach Inc. organizes food packaging events and then distributes the meals to regional food banks, local food shelves and Mobile Foodshare.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, we held our inaugural food packing event in 2015, and by the grace of God, it was a huge success! We surpassed our goal of 25,000 meals to pack over 35,000. Over 200 volunteers from 25 faith and civic groups participated. We have packaged over 200,000 meals(32,598 (2015), 38,604 (2016), 29,004 (2017), 25,002 (2018), 25,000 (2019), and 30,000 (2020), and 15,000 (2021)) and hope to continue in future years.
