Sr. Amina Azib Ramdani, Principal. I hold a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Central Connecticut State University. I am passionate about education and the Islamic faith. I spent most of the last ten years in the education field, including seven years as Principal of FVAMC Academy. I enjoy listening to the Holy Quran Tafseer and spending time with my family. I am grateful to Allah for being part of the FVAMC community and look forward to continuing my journey at FVAMC Academy.

Sr. Luma Chalabi – Assistant Principal. I have lived in Farmington for the last 9 years. I have two children, both in 9th grade this school year. I’m the assistant principal at FVAMC academy since the 2023-24 school year. In addition, I also am an attorney.

Sr. Fauzia Nayar – Registrar. With a firm belief in the importance of education and communication, I started as an assistant teacher at FVAMC Academy seven years ago. With prior teaching experience in my home country (Pakistan) coupled with some essential organizational skills cultivated while working as an Office Administrator (and being a mother!). I became the Registrar for FVAMC Academy in 2019. I have a Bachelors in Pharmacy from Pakistan and received my Medical coding and billing certification from Naugatuck Community College. Passionate about Education and having a STEM background further allowed me to advance in my career, where I joined Literacy Volunteers of Central Connecticut as a Literacy Coordinator at. I discovered that my passion to be in teaching Quran. That’s why I am also a member of our Afterschool Learnig Program (AQL/Ijaza) team at FVAMC. Diversity is an asset in any work environment and having worked both in the U.S.A and Pakistan, I have a well-developed appreciation for differences in cultural backgrounds – an invaluable trait when it comes to fostering good relations with both colleagues and students. In my spare time, I enjoy event decorating, cooking, crocheting and reading. Thanks to Allah Subhantallah for giving me all these opportunities and surrounding me with beautiful people and community.

2024-2025 teachers

Sr. Husna Sayeed – Head Teacher, Pre-K.  I am thrilled to be part of FVAMC from the first day it started. I have been part of Sunday school in 2012 when it first started as a KG teacher and I’m happy to be a Pre-K teacher now. I have a bachelors degree in Health sciences and a Nursing degree specializing in neonatal care. My hobbies are reading, swimming, baking and being in nature during the beautiful months of fall and summer. I live with my husband, three kids and our two cats. I am looking forward to working with a wonderful community and staff.

Sr. Ifrah Khalid- Assistant Teacher, Pre-K. I have a Shariah and Law degree from international Islamic University Pakistan and MS from Newcastle Australia. My life experiences include working with immigration lawyers, the corporate sector and litigation. I came to United States in 2014 and after having my two kids I step back to spend time with family. My past time includes travel reading and baking.

Sr. Hanifa Shaikh- Head Teacher, Kindergarten. I’m excited to be your child’s Sunday school teacher at FMVAC! Originally from the UK, I’ve lived in the USA for over 20 years with my husband Zahir and our three daughters: Khadija, Zayneb, and Rumanah. I’ve been with FVAMC for 3 years and love being part of a community. I have over 15 years of experience teaching from Kindergarten to 8th grade and enjoy it every year. I’m also the FMVAC Program Manager, which gives me insight into how our center runs and how our community works together. Outside of the masjid, I enjoy shopping, caring for houseplants, spending time with friends, and watching movies with my family. I also love baking and find joy in seeing the smiles my cakes bring. I’m looking forward to a wonderful Kindergarten year with your child!

Sr. Amina Akberzai – Assistant Teacher, Kindergarten. I am a computer science professional and student with a passion for technology and community service. I am originally from Afghanistan, and now living in the US with my family. I am actively involved in helping newly arrived refugees through her volunteer work with IRIS and New Start Ministry. At FVAMC, I enjoy teaching and mentoring children, fostering both their academic and personal growth. Outside of work, I find peace in nature, using walks to clear my thoughts and inspire my her continued efforts in making a positive community impact.

Sr. Hadeer Hossain – Head Teacher, First Grade. Some facts about me are: I’m Egyptian, speak Arabic, English and a bit of French.
I hold an an associate degree Egypt. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in special education. I have been teaching for 10 years at West Hartford Public Schools and 4 years at the FVAMC Academy.

Sr. Roshan Fathima- Head Teacher. Second Grade. I have completed M.Phil (Master of Philosophy) in English Literature in India. I worked as a college Professor in India. I am connected to FVAMC Academy from day1. I volunteered for few years and took a break and joined as a teacher before 4 years. Also i volunteer as Tamil school teacher in a nonprofit organization in Avon for 8 years. I also volunteered as a Vice Principal in an online Tamil school till Aug 15 2024. I recently started working as Paraprofessional at CREC magnet school in May 2024. Coming to my personal life. I am Married to my husband Adam and proud mom of 4 kids. My hobbies include gardening, Crafts and cooking.

Sr. Fatima Saltah. Head Teacher, Third Grade.
I’m currently enrolled in college and pursuing a degree in education. As a young girl I have always wanted to become a teacher and work with students. I started assisting teachers at FVAMC Academy about 5 years ago. I am very excited and grateful to be able to teach a class of my own this year. Some of my favorites are to go to the beach and be with my family and friends.

Sr. Yasmine Kapadwala, Head Teacher, Fourth Grade. I am excited to be your Fourth-grader teacher. I have a background in Early Childhood Education and am currently working as a substitute teacher in the surrounding school districts. This experience has allowed me to further explore my passion for empowering young minds. I live in Avon with my husband and three children. We have been part of the FVAMC community for the past six years, and I have had the privilege of being involved in the teachers’ community for the last four years, Alhamdulillah. I am genuinely looking forward to meeting your children and making this academic year a fulfilling and joyful experience for them. I am excited about the learning and growth we will achieve together.
I can’t wait to see everyone on Sundays and embark on a wonderful journey ahead, Insha’Allah! 

Sr. Raqima Tabassum, Head Teacher. Fifth Grade. I am from India but now settled in USA with my family. My love for teaching and learning has been with me since her childhood. I started teaching variety of subjects to grades from elementary through high school while I was in 9th grader. I continued teaching until graduation to start my corporate journey. Volunteering as a teacher at the FVAMC Academy brings my love of teaching back to life again. I am immensely Thankful for Allah Subhanahu Taala for blessing her with this opportunity!

Sr. Sienna Almady – Head Teacher, Sixth Grade (Sundays). I am beginning my second year teaching at FVAMC Academy. However this is my 7th year teaching in Sunday schools! I got my bachelors with a double major in linguistics and Arabic, and I recently finished my masters of elementary education! In my free time, I love to cook, read, and spend time outdoors. I can’t wait to meet all of you this year!

Sr. Doha Bassyouni, Head Teacher, Seventh Grade. I was born and raised in the beautiful Alexandria, Egypt where I earned a degree in Business and Accounting and worked as an accountant at the University of Alexandria for a number of years. Prior to that, I was a 4th grade history teacher and fell in love with teaching ever since! I have taught Arabic and Qur’an to new Muslims as well as school-aged children. During this time, I also worked in Madina Academy as an Arabic and Qur’an teacher for a number of years.
In addition, I enjoyed volunteering for the public school system while my kids were young.
I have been a Sunday School teacher for well over 15 years for different communities, including about 6 years here at FVAMC, Alhamdillah!
I have loved connecting with the students and their families over the years and look forward to continuing to work with and inspire our next generation of Muslims!

Sr. Sienna Almady – Head Teacher, Eighth  Grade (Fridays). I am beginning my second year teaching at FVAMC Academy. However this is my 7th year teaching in Sunday schools! I got my bachelors with a double major in linguistics and Arabic, and I recently finished my masters of elementary education! In my free time, I love to cook, read, and spend time outdoors. I can’t wait to meet all of you this year!

Sr. Lucky Farducy- Head Teacher, Grade 9-12. I joined FVAMC Academy in 2018 and have taught 6th grade over the years. I’m excited to transition to working with high school students this year! I have a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and experience working as an elementary school teacher. I’m currently on a career break exploring various interests. I love learning about social justice as well as studying the deen. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, reading, and taking road trips with family. I look forward to continuing my journey at FVAMC and connecting with families and students!

Br. Ibrahim Wali – Assistant Teacher, Grades 9-12. Br. Ibrahim is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a Master of Arts  degree in Education. In his free time, Ibrahim enjoys the outdoors, tennis, traveling. He is also passionate about supporting immigrants and refugee.

Sr. Nada Soliman – Quran Teacher, KG, 2nd, and 3rd Grades. I am very excited to join the FVAMC Academy team. I came from an Egyptian background; hence Arabic has always been my first language. I have been working as a Montessori Teacher For Early Childhood in Maria Montessori School in San Diego for the past 3 years. I am also a Certified Positive Discipline Early Childhood Educator and I possess a Child Development Administration Certificate and a Business Administration Bachelor’s. I am Deeply motivated and reliable to apply my passion for working with children and help them through their Arabic and Quran learning journey where they can develop and reach their full potential.  

Sr. Nazia Sultana – Quran Teacher, 4th-6th Grades. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from India. I left my teaching career to pursue my Quran journey . I completed my Tajweed course from Dar Al Huda Quran School , Jeddah ,Saudi Arabia. After moving from Jeddah I have been teaching online since 2016.I have also obtained teachers training in the three books of Tajweed written by sheikhah Kareema Czerespinski  from Sheikhah herself , Alhamdulillah. I am very passionate about teaching Tajweed. I aim and hope to help as many students as possible to be able to recite Quran correctly as our beloved Prophet (PBUH) recited.
